2. HANDMADE BEAUTY TRIVIA QUESTION ~ Last week's question remains unanswered ... lots of good guesses though. Let's
try it again!!
Who is credited with first suggesting that cosmetics should be separated from the practice of medicine because use of
cosmetics "is not ordinarily for treatment of an illness but something that goes outside of this with the intention
of concealment or disguise."
Be the first to answer and win a copy of "Natural Beauty" by Rosemary Gladstar!

3. HANDMADE BEAUTY PRODUCT REVIEW by Donna Maria
~ Gossamer Cream by SunRose Aromatics
1 oz ~ $19.99
Every now and then, I try a product which is simply "simply elegant." Gossamer Cream is such a product. It's a
blend of shea butter, one of the most skin nourishing things on earth, and several essential oils, along with evening
primrose oil (so great for maturing skin like mine) and skin soothing calendula. I used it some this summer, but am
really looking forward to my skin slurping it up as we are moving into fall and I need to apply moisture-rich products
on a more regular basis now. I have tried Gossamer Cream on my heels, elbows, a dry patch around my mouth, hang nails
and my hair. It never fails to please and the aroma of pure aromatic oils is luxurious and empowering. It's got
geranium, frankincense (so great for dry skin!), patchouli, lavender, clary sage and more to leave my skin feeling
radiant, pampered and silky smooth.
Gossamer Cream is available from SunRose Aromatics at www.sunrosearomatics.com.
4. AROMATIC BEAUTY FOOD RECIPE ~ Zit Attack Mask
Today's recipe is brought to you courtesy of Jeanine Pollak of Botanic Adventures. For more information about
herbal classes, books and consultations with Jeanine, log
onto www.botanicadventures.com.
This is Jeanine's "OH NO, IT'S A ZIT ATTACK" Mask.
Why do zits have the most impeccable timing for creating misery and havoc with your otherwise gorgeous face? Who
knows? But short of leaving the country, here is a favorite "make-me-look-better-right-now-before-I-hide-my-head-in-the-sand" herbal mask. It is best preceded by a few minutes of
herbal facial steam with roses, sage, thyme, and chamomile.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon each green clay and liquid honey
1 teaspoon peach or apricot yogurt
1 drop lavender *or* rose geranium essential oil
Blending Procedure ~ Mix and stir in the essential oil.
To use, say your Zit-Away Prayers, and spread this fragrant, soothing, and deeply cleansing "Wonder Mask" on your skin.
Lay down and relax for 1/2-1 hour. If anyone tries to bother you, don't worry; you're quite a frightful sight, all green and
gloppy and such, and obviously deserve your "Beauty Rest". When you feel ready, rinse off with warm water, finish with
a splash of cool water. Continue with your day and enjoy your
newfound beauty secret!
*Submit your recipe to recipes@handmadebeauty.com. If
we use it in an upcoming issue, we'll credit you!!
