minute story focused on how Maggie makes her Prickly Pear & Aloe Soap, from
chopping the cactus pads, to burning off the thorns, to scraping out the gel, to
making soap with all of it! Congratulations Maggie!

2. Handmade Beauty Recipe
Of The Week: Coconut Rose Body Whip
Coconut
Rose Body Whip is a wonderfully rich body butter recipe I recently added to my
repertoire. Its one of my favorites because it's rich and thick without being
greasy. It absorbs easily into dry skin to soothe and nourish. You'll love it!

Last Week's

am organic compound found inside a hydroxyl group on the carbon next to the
carboxylic acid group. Some examples of me are -hydroxyoctanoic
acid, -hydroxydecanoic
acid and other acids. I am popular in women's cosmetics -- especially facial
cleansers and masks. I am a _________________.
Last Week's Answer: alpha hydroxy acid
This Week's Question: I
am a world famous perfume bottle designed by Rene Lalique's son, Marc
Lalique. I hold a perfume -- a combination of intoxicating aromatic oils --
known around the world as "Femme." Marc Lalique designed me in
1951 to mimic the curvy and voluptuous figure of this world renowned
actress.
Be
the first to correctly state the answer to this week's question and win
5 pounds of citric acid, courtesy of HBN member Essential
Wholesale! Make all the bath bombs you can stand!!
Please read the contest rules here
before submitting your entry. Put "TRIVIA CONTEST ANSWER" in the subject line or your answer will
not be considered.
While time does not permit me to respond personally to all entrants, the
winner will be notified by email and their name posted at HBN's home page.
4. Handmade Beauty Product
Review by Donna
Maria: Hawaiian Red Salt Glow by Anastasia's Ideas
Anastasia's Hawaiian Red Salt Glow
2 oz | $6.99
Anastasia's Hawaiian Red Salt Glow
is another hit from one of my favorite handmade beauty product makers! A
combination of Hawaiian red sea salt which is made a deep color of pinkish
red by Hawaiian red clay, along with neroli essential oil, babassu oil and a
generous dose of creamy, rich virgin coconut cream, this salt glow is my
favorite yet.
I love it for many reasons.
First, the color is wonderful. Then, there's the aroma --- who can go wrong with
just enough neroli oil to make you inhale deeply and relax? Next, there's the
texture of the salt -- granular yet not scratchy. I'm sure that's in part
because of the "just right" amount of oils added. Many salt scrubs I
have tried are not enjoyable either because the jar leaks oil (making them a
real pain to open up and start to use) or there's not enough oil (and maybe not
enough of the right types of oils) to hold the salt together in a way that
allows it to stick in my palm long enough to actually be massed into my
skin. Hawaiian Red Salt Glow
is different - no doubt in part
because of the coconut cream which helps to make the salt stick together in my
palm so I can get .lots of exfoliating use out of it.
My favorite way to use this
product is to get into my dry tub and exfoliate my skin, paying particular
attention to knees, heels, elbows and such. Then, I run my bath and soak in the
salts, sniff the neroli and enjoy the cool color of bath water made pink by
nature.
You can get Hawaiian Red Salt Glow
and other delicious treats
at Anastasia's Ideas.
Hawaiian Red Salt Glow
is in the "New
Products" section and will only be available for a limited time so get
yours soon so you don't miss out!
