3. Handmade Beauty Trivia
Question: the winner of last week's
contest was Michaeline McConnell of Julian, California. Michaeline won
a bar of Oatmeal Vitamin E Soap made by HBN member SunFeather Natural Soap Company!
Last Week's
Question: I am a sentimental bouquet; a gift usually indicative of
great affection. I date from Victorian days and am composed chiefly of herbs
and flowers with specific and very special meanings, supported by greenery,
pretty feminine lace or a doily and perhaps a note of charm and grace to
convey strong feelings. Giving me a spritz of essential oils can freshen me
after a few days of exposure to the air. I waft my scent and my message of
affection to everyone within "nose-shot." What am I?
Last Week's Answer: tussie mussie
This Week's Question: I am backed by a company founded by Dr.
Tsai Yen Yu, which company was founded in 1972 when Dr. Yu was just 24 years
old. Today, the company owns or provides financial backing for thousands of
beauty centers throughout Asia. I am one of them. I am touted as the only
spa on mainland China that caters exclusively to a male clientele. My
attractive features include lemon-scented air, New Age music, lavender tea,
bamboo motif massage rooms, rattan loungers and other pampering amenities.
You'll only see male clients lounging around inside me. I am in Shanghai and
a second one of me is planned for Beijing. What is my name? To win this week, be
the first to provide the name of the spa and win some wonderful rose oil!
Please read the contest rules here
before submitting your entry. Put "TRIVIA CONTEST ANSWER" in the subject line or your answer will
not be considered.
While time does not permit me to respond personally to all entrants, the
winner's name will be announced in the next newsletter!

Sage Seaweed Lemongrass Soap by HBN Member Canterbury Cabin
Sage Seaweed Lemongrass Soap
5 ounces | price unavailable at press
time
Sage Seaweed Lemongrass Soap is a nice
combination of aromas that I have never experienced before. You may know that
lemongrass is a favorite soap scent of mine, but mixed with seaweed, lemongrass
oil lends a whole new dimension to this bar. I have been using this soap on my
entire body for about a week now, even my face, and I love it. The seaweed aroma
gives me a spa/beach type feel and the lemongrass is of course invigorating and
"happy." As you can see from the
photograph, there is a light exfoliating quality to the soap -- not too little,
not too much -- just right for entire body use.
Not only did I get a chance to
enjoy this bar, but my husband is enjoying the Lemon Poppyseed and my
sister-in-law loves the Lemon Ginger. But Canterbury Cabin makes more than just
soap. I also got my hands on a jar of their Cocoa
Butter & Coconut Milk Hand & Body Creme, so I have to tell you
about that too!
Cocoa Butter
& Coconut Milk Hand & Body Creme is
reminiscent of something I want to dive into, not just because of the way it
feels on my skin, but because of the way it smells. The color of a creamy off
white cloud, this is comfort food for your body and I have to resist the
temptation to put a dollop of it in my tea or on top of a bunch of freshly
sliced peaches!! Cocoa butter of course smells like chocolate, but when combined
with a coconut milk aroma, the result is decadent! It also contains sweet almond
oil and coconut oil for a rich soothing feel. A very slight separation gave me
an excuse to dump it into a bowl and get out my small electric mixer to whip it
up again -- that was fun, and the separation is gone and I'm still loving this
product!
You can get your own Canterbury
Cabin product list, including Spa Essentials
Collection, Canterbury Bath & Body Collection and Natural Toiletries
Collection, by contacting Lorrie at canterburycabin@aol.com.
You'll be amazed at the really neat stuff she makes and she can customize
