2. Handmade Beauty Recipe
Of The Week: Citrus Ginger Body Oil
Citrus
Ginger Body Oil is a must-try for the fall season! It glides
effortlessly into your skin and smells wonderful with essential oils of
ginger, lime, bergamot ... It's also better than body oil alone, which is
sometimes difficult to massage into the skin unless it is damp from bathing.
It's rich and delicious and the only emulsifier is you!
When you visit MakeYourCosmetics.com,
it's easy to buy the ingredients you
need by clicking on our Selected
Supplier links:

3. Handmade Beauty Trivia
Question: the winner of last week's
contest was Rosemary Aquila
of Norwalk, Connecticut. Rosemary won some soap molds -- in plenty of
time for holiday gift making!
Last Week's
Question: I am a naturally occurring drug that has been shown in some
studies to be effective at protecting lab animals against skin cancer. It
has been estimated that more than 4 million tons of me are consumed each
year worldwide. I am addictive, absorbed very quickly into the bloodstream
and appear quickly in nursing mothers' breast milk.
Last Week's Answer: caffeine
This Week's Question: A
well-established and popular over the counter beauty product, snow white in
color and usually packaged in a blue container, is a cleanser and also aids
in alleviating discomfort associated with sunburns. The product was actually
originally called a sunburn treatment, but took on a new name after
customers reported that it also helped their eczema.
To win this week, be
the first to correctly state both the name of the product and the name
of the person who invented it and win a bar of San Juan Salt
Scrub, reviewed in today's newsletter!!
Please read the contest rules here
before submitting your entry. Put "TRIVIA CONTEST ANSWER" in the subject line or your answer will
not be considered.
While time does not permit me to respond personally to all entrants, the
winner will be notified by email and their name posted at HBN's home page.

Handmade Beauty Product Review: San
Juan Salt Scrub & More by HBN Member Savonerie
San Juan Salt Scrub
& More!
5 oz. bar | $7.00 Soap! Soap!
More Soap! That's what I say after using a bar of soap like this one! Can't have
enough soap! I am so excited to tell you about the San Juan Salt Scrub
from HBN member Savonerie! Where shall I start? First,
just look at it! I can't recall when I've seen a soap this lovely! It's layered
with blue and green beach glass colors for a marine feeling
as you can see. Then, the mix of fragrance makes me fancy myself a mermaid or
something -- fresh and ocean-y without being too seaweed-y! Then, it's topped
with some Dead Sea
salt crystals so
I can exfoliate if I want to. The other side is smooth like silk so that if I'm
not in the mood for scrubbies, I can still be happy with this bar. The lather is
thick and rich and I cannot
say enough about how much I love using this soap.
Savonerie
does not stop with just one nice bar -- oh no! I also got a few others and my
favorite is Orange Blossom Silk (5 oz. bar |
$6.00). A luxurious bar made with silk, this
bar is extra special because it's topped with a lovely gold leaf like insignia
which makes it very elegant and feminine. I'd love to give this as a gift to a
bride, especially since it's infused with the traditional bridal fragrance of
orange blossoms.
If you want to be inspired for your holiday gift
giving or just for the next soaps you can make for your own pleasure or gift
giving yourself, you'll want to check out Savonerie.
