HBN
Update: Welcome New
& Renewing HBN Members!!
5-Year Renewing Members!
All this year, HBC will highlight members who
are renewing for their 5th straight year of membership! Our 5-Year Renewing Members joined HBN in
2000 and have this week renewed their memberships for a 5th year without
interruption.
I am eternally grateful to all HBN members, but especially these who put
their faith in HBN in the early days when there was no track record and no
one was sure it would last. I'm excited to say that HBN has lasted and so
have these members! Please visit their websites. Be inspired and buy
something new and delicious just for you!

2. No More Beauty Business As Usual: Changing Our Families, Our
Communities & The World!
What a joy and wonder it is to celebrate a New Year and a new milestone all
at the same time, especially with you, dear readers of the Handmade Beauty
Connection and members of the Handmade Beauty Network. I'm sure each of you have
special things to look forward to in 2005 and sentimental memories of what was
precious about the year just passed.
Imagine having a vision in January 2005 about creating a new organization
that would join together the aspirations and plans of an entirely new industry!
Today, 5 years later, I can hardly comprehend how that vision has become reality
in HBN. I stand in awe of the entrepreneurial spirit displayed by HBN's members
around the country and in the world. I am constantly amazed and invigorated by
the sheer passion that joins over 420 members together to enjoy life, share joy
and learn from one another.
Yet no matter how many months and years pass, and no matter how many new and
exciting adventures HBN takes with you, one thing will always remain the same
-- we will continue to look to one another's hearts to find what is
meaningful and lasting, and to find the strength we indeed need to allow our
businesses to help us change our families, our communities and the world.
I am so blessed to enjoy this time with you, and I am especially excited
because it brings with it an opportunity to announce plans for HBN's first
conference and trade show to be held July 28, 29 and 30 at the Sheraton
Park Ridge Hotel and Conference Center in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Our conference will bring us together for the first time as participants as a
growing niche in a cosmetics industry that has survived with little change for
decades. Details about our exciting keynote speaker, workshops and Awards
Banquet will be made available in the coming days. I hope you will mark
your calendar to join us as we celebrate our theme:
No More Beauty Business As Usual: Changing Our Families, Our Communities
& The World!
In the months -- and years -- ahead, along with the members of HBN, I will
continue to endeavor to bring you the best of the handmade beauty world. I hope
you will continue to join us on the journey.

Beauty & The Business Trivia
Question:
the winner of last week's contest was HBN member Jena Thompson of Albert
Lea, MN. Jena won a bar of handmade soap!
Last Week's Question: Here's
some 2004 trivia for a little laugh. Last month, a popular talk show host
got married with the goal of having a wedding that rivaled that of
Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Apparently, she was successful, even
though her bridesmaids wore inexpensive shoes from this nationwide
discount shoe store chain.
Last Week's Answer: Payless Shoe Source
This Week's Question: Who was the guest at dM's first
