Handmade Toiletries Network Becomes Handmade Beauty Network

January 6, 2003 -- Bowie, MD. The largest trade group for manufacturers of handmade soaps, cosmetics, toiletries and other personal products has a new name, a new Web site and expanded services for consumers. Donna Maria's Handmade Toiletries Network is now Donna Maria's Handmade Beauty Network, and the organization's activities and mission have expanded to include more new media promotion highlighting the unique benefits of handmade beauty products and bringing increased visibility to the member companies that manufacture them.

“The new identity and broadened mission is the result of six months of extensive planning,” says President and founder Donna Maria Coles Johnson. “We hear from our members and other users every day, and we looked at all the ways we could make our online resources more valuable for both our members and the consumers who love their products.” Johnson says the organization reviewed input from members and business advisors on how HBN could best continue to have maximum positive industry impact. “The new name is part of the result of that process,” she says, “and HBN is now poised to solidify its role as the leading resource relating to the manufacture and sale of handmade beauty products and their importance to the quality of life of consumers around the world."

In the new year, HBN will continue to provide the services which have become the core of its member program, including discounted legal and business counseling services, a cutting edge products liability program, and discounted print and online advertising for HBN members. In addition, HBN will take advantage of new media opportunities and will launch several new services designed to further enhance growth opportunities for HBN members: product photography services, public relations services, discounted merchant processing services, discounted printing services and expanded media opportunities.
