Questions about the Official Logo Program Guidelines Of The Handmade

of HBN's name and/or logo conflict with these Guidelines, or if you would
like to use HBN's logo on more than one website, please contact HBN to get
your questions resolved first. HBN's logo may be used by HBN members only,
and only at websites owned by the member. It may not be used at websites not
owned by the member, i.e., auction websites and other non-member owned sites
where member products are sold.
The name and Logo of The Handmade Beauty Network
are the property of The Handmade Beauty
Network (HBN). HBN members may display HBN's Logo only in strict compliance with the Official Logo Program Guidelines Of The Handmade
Beauty Network (Guidelines). Any use of the HBN Logo that is not consistent with these Guidelines is strictly
prohibited and may result in termination of membership privileges without
refund.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: HBN is not responsible for damage to
your hardware or software that results from uploading of the logo to your website
or copying of the logo to your printed materials. A few members
have experienced technical difficulties uploading the logo to their websites. When this happens, please do not leave a distorted or improperly
displayed logo at your site. Remove it unless it is completely clear and
properly displayed. Since it is impossible for HBN to understand how all
systems work, we cannot be responsible for any problems you encounter
uploading or copying the logo. If you are used to maintaining your own website, please consider engaging the services of a professional to upload the
logo in order to minimize the chances of any problems. HBN's Web designer,

HBN's Logo
- HBN members may use HBN's Logo under the conditions described in these Guidelines.
- HBN's Logo is provided only as a graphical representation to indicate
HBN membership, and is not in any way an indication of HBN sponsorship or endorsement of the content of any
website or product.
- HBN's Logo may be displayed on the websites of HBN members in good standing and on labels of
HBN member products that are handmade from scratch using raw materials.
HBN's logo may not be displayed on products that were made using pre-manufactured base materials (such as unscented lotion or melt and pour soap) that was purchased and later colored, scented or otherwise changed to create a desired result.
- HBN's Logo is owned by HBN and all uses of the Logo inure to the benefit of
HBN.
- HBN's Logo may be displayed by a member only at the website linked
in HBN's online member directory. Use of HBN's Logo on additional
websites is not permitted without HBN's written permission.
HBN's Name
- If HBN's name is used in conjunction with the Logo on a website or brochure, it should appear as "The Handmade
Beauty Network" as the first and most prominent use in all materials, and can thereafter be referred to as
HBN.
- HBN's name may not be used at any website or other media to denote
that HBN endorses any particular products, ideas or methods without
HBN's written permission.
- HBN's name may not be used any website or other media to denote that
HBN is a "Sponsor" or "Partner," or has any formal
relationship with anyone (other than being the trade organization that
a member belongs to) without HBN's written permission.
Restrictions on Logo Use
- HBN's Logo may not be used to disparage HBN, any of its members or any other trade organizations or businesses.
- HBN's Logo may not be imitated or copied in any way outside of HBN's Logo Program, including in advertising, product packaging and promotional materials.
- HBN's Logo must not be used in a way that implies HBN's sponsorship or endorsement of the content of any
website or products.
- HBN's Logo may not used at websites not
owned by the member, i.e., auction websites and other non-member owned sites
where member products are sold
Permissible Accompanying Text
When used on an HBN member's website, HBN's Logo may not appear by itself.
It must be accompanied by one of the following phrases:
- Proud member of ...
- Member Of ...
- We Are A Member Of ...
- This Handmade Beauty Business Is A Member Of ...
followed by the Logo. In all cases, the HBN Logo must be an active link to The Handmade
Beauty Network's website at this URL address: http://www.HandmadeBeauty.com.
It is not permissible to open HBN's site inside a frame at your site. It
must be an active link that opens a new browser window on a user's system.
When used on an HBN member's product brochure or product label, HBN's Logo
must be accompanied by the phrase:
Presentation
The HBN Logo must be displayed independently of any other graphic or display on a
website, brochure or product label. In other words, it may not be conjoined with any other graphic or text in such a way as to imply
HBN sponsorship or endorsement. HBN's Logo may not be used as a feature or design element of any other Logo. For use on
websites, the
HBN Logo cannot be reduced or enlarged beyond what is electronically provided by
HBN, nor can the image be compressed to the point where it is illegible or distorted beyond its original appearance. For use on product brochures or product labels, the
HBN logo may be made proportionately smaller or larger to fit the text but the logo itself may not be altered in any way. Do not remove any trademark symbols or alter the Logo in any way. Redraws, distortions, or animation of the Logo are not permitted. The artwork on
HBN's Logo may not be altered in any way.
Logo Program Updates
HBN reserves the right to change the Logo and the HBN Logo Program Guidelines at any time and solely at its discretion. If possible,
HBN will provide advance notice of any changes. All Logo authorized websites, product brochures or product labels will be notified by e-mail of any changes to the Guidelines. Permission to use
HBN's Logo is limited to those who meet the then applicable criteria, and those who no longer meet the criteria must discontinue the use of the Logo.
Termination of Logo Use Privileges
HBN reserves the right to review use of the HBN Logo and will monitor use of the Logo on member
websites, product brochures and product labels to ensure compliance with these Guidelines. Disregard for these Guidelines may result in immediate termination of the privilege of using the Logo, and with it, all benefits enjoyed through participation in the Logo
Program. Depending on the severity of any unapproved use of the logo, it may
also result in any of the following: (1) disabling of a member's username
and password; (2) removal of a members' contact information from HBN's
Online Member Directory; and/or (3) termination of HBN membership without refund. Upon termination of membership (whether or not involuntary),
HBN's Logo must be immediately removed from the website, brochure or label.
You must remove HBN's previous logo (red with greenery on each
side) before displaying the new logo (the blue logo).
Compliance
Any member found to be improperly using the HBN Logo or using any outdated or unapproved
HBN Logo must correct any deficiencies in their use of the Logo upon reasonable notice in the form of a electronic written request to remove the Logo in question. They will be informed of what steps must be taken in order to continue to use the correct Logo and will be given a set time period to comply with the request. Refusal to correct deficiencies may result in revocation of the right to use the Logo. Continued use may result in revocation of membership in The Handmade
Beauty Network without refund at the discretion of HBN.
