FORMER OAHU, HAWAII, RESIDENT SHARES RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
March 5, 2001, HONOLULU, HI - Former Oahu resident, Charlon Bobo, returns
to share her extensive knowledge of making natural bath-and-body products.
Bobo will conduct a toiletry-making demonstration, as well as a hands-on
soapmaking workshop on Saturday, April 28, 2001 at the Honolulu Airport
Hotel.
Both classes provide a detailed and comprehensive look at the many
aspects of this handcrafted art form. "It is empowering for consumers
to learn how to make their own beauty products, and the basics can be taught
in a two-hour session," says Bobo. Attendees will gain valuable insight
into the creative process and discover the excitement of making their own
effervescent bath beads, face masks, lotion, incense, and much more.
Discussions will include information on choosing ingredients, finding
suppliers, and using helpful resources for creating recipes. In either
class, not only will students take with them valuable toiletry-making
skills, but they will also be inspired by Bobo's informal and friendly
presentation and enlightened perspective of life and business.
Bobo's immense success in the handcrafted toiletries industry began in
1997 as she discovered personal fulfillment through the art
of soapmaking. Motivated by her desire to inspire others, Bobo began
teaching this craft and sharing her "recipe for success." "It
is my calling to share what has empowered me and use this tool to empower
others," states Bobo. She shares her talents in a uniquely enthusiastic
and passionate style, telling inspiring stories of how she began soapmaking.
In addition to teaching the art of handcrafted toiletry-making in her
studio, and managing a private-label soapmaking business, Bobo also owns a
mail-order packaging supplies company. Her knowledge and expertise in the
toiletries industry frequently places her in a position as consultant. She
is a seed member of the Handmade Beauty Network (the leading trade
organization
representing the handmade toiletries industry) and has been involved in The
Handcrafted Soapmaker's Guild since its inception in 1997.
Bobo also organizes and
hosts the annual spring Southern California Handcrafted Soap and Toiletries
Gathering. Pre-registration ends March 30, 2001. Click here
